Los Luchas

The traditions of lucha libre are well-stated throughout professional wrestling and Mexican culture in general – the deep-rooted respect, the generations of athletes who transcended the sport, and of course the sacred and untouchable nature of the wrestling mask, representing the very identity and existence of the men behind them. To lose the mask would bring ultimate shame upon you. However, on the flip side, to experience success puts you on a pedestal of almost heroic proportions. Some fans idolize luchadors to the point that they’ll throw money into the ring after a particularly enthralling performance. With the tradition in mind, but the future in front of them, comes Phoenix Star & Zokre, collectively known as Los Luchas.

Unlike many teams in today’s era, the two have kept their partnership consistent throughout their careers, having teamed off-and-on for the vast majority of their twelve-plus years competing. The duo has competed extensively for the PWG promotion and also even held the NWA World Tag Team Titles for nearly nine months. As one of the most experienced duos in GFW, the two will have experience on their side, though face a tag team division in GFW unlike any other in pro wrestling, in terms of not just experienced teams but diverse backgrounds and styles as well. With generations of history and heritage behind them, Los Luchas will be looking to represent their predecessors and culture well as the pre-eminent style in tag team competition.
